MK Gandhi, a School of Communication Skills in himself: Dr Birbal Jha

New Delhi, 02.10.2021: The Father of the Nation, Mohan Das Karamchand Gandhi,  popularly known as  ‘Bapu’, was a school of philosophy, language, communications skills, politics and many other disciplines of today’s education being imparted to the young generation across the country and the world. He would remain all-time relevant in human life not only in the Indian context but also in the world as his practice and teachings were for the constructive purposes of mankind. India celebrates his birth anniversary on 2nd October, declaring it as a national Holiday.

The day reminds us of Gandhi's sacrifices that paved the way for India's freedom from the clutches of British Rule. His life sketch is an eye-opener, a source of inspiration and motivation for all to do something virtuous for the larger interest of society. There is a lot to learn from him, taking a leaf from philosophy, approach and practice. The more we read of him, the more we get enlightened. Today he is not with us in flesh and blood now, but his spirit is around all the time as his deeds did us proud.

As a trainer of English communications skills at British Lingua, I often quote him as a subject matter of higher studies and a source of enlightenment, courage and intellectual progression during my interactions with trainees and students. He is a brilliant piece of example when it comes to citing an example of how to articulate oneself either in public or personal life. Words without weapons can do wonders. What weapons can’t do, words can.  Gandhi set an example for others to follow even for generations to come.

Gandhi’s ideology teaches us to rise above brutes and adopt civility and humility as it is for all to agree that humanity lies in being above brutality. What impressed me the most while reading the autobiography of Mahatma Gandhi – ‘My Experiments with Truth’, was his impeccable communication skills coupled with his thoughts, intellectual values, ideas, idealism, and overall ideology.  It is worth reading.  It is a must-have and must-read.

Dr Birbal Jha is a noted author and the Managing Director of Lingua Multiservices Pvt Ltd having a popular trademark brand ‘British Lingua’. He is credited with creating a revolution in English training with the slogan ‘English for all’ in India.
