Make Sabudana Modak easily at home, know its recipe


Modaks are very dear to Lord Ganesha. His worship is considered incomplete without Modak. People like to eat Modak as Prasad.

Modak is the favorite sweet of Lord Ganesha, which is why it is widely offered as bhog on 'Ganesh Chaturthi'. It is basically made with rice flour or mawa, but in this recipe we will give a twist to the traditional recipe and make modak with sabudana.

'Ganesh Chaturthi' is an 11-day long festival that begins with bringing Lord Ganesha home on the first day and performing Ganesh Visarjan on the last day. People prepare a variety of dishes and sweets during the festival, but the most popular is Modak.

Ingredients of Sabudana Modak

10 servings

1 cup tapioca

1 tbsp ghee

1/2 cup sugar

1/2 tsp green cardamom

How to make Sabudana Modak

Step 1- Soak the sabudana

First of all, wash the sago well and soak it in water for 3 hours. Now drain the water and wash it 3-4 times in clean water and take it out in a bowl.

Step 2- Fry the Sabudana

Heat ghee in a pan and add soaked sabudana to it. Fry for 6-8 minutes. Now add sugar and let it dissolve completely. Add cardamom powder, mix well and keep mixing. Keep stirring it for some time, till the mixture comes out of the pan and binds together. This may take 20 minutes or more. Switch off the flame and let the mixture cool down completely.

Step 3- Make Modak

Now grease a modak mold with a little ghee and fill a little mixture in it. To make modak, keep it on a plate by pressing it down. Make more modaks from the remaining mixture and let them dry out a bit.

Step 4- Ready to serve

Now your Sabudana Modak is ready to be served
