Big relief: Extended deadline for filing income tax return, now returns can be filed till this date

 The Finance Ministry issued a statement saying that the CBDT has extended the due dates for filing of Income Tax Returns and various audit reports for the year 2021-22. Now taxpayers can file their returns till 31st December 2021.

Central Board of Direct Taxes issued a statement

 The Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) said, considering the difficulties reported by the taxpayers and other stakeholders in the filing of income tax returns and various reports of audit for the assessment year 2021-22 under the Income Tax Act, 1961 ("the Act") In doing so, the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) has decided to further extend the due dates for filing of Income Tax Returns and various audit reports for the year 2021-22.

Returns can be filed till 31st December 2021

Earlier in May, it was extended till 30 September in view of the spread of the second wave of corona in the country. At the same time, this date has now been extended further.
