Now you can send messages to anyone through Instagram Threads

Close friends will get priority in automatic status update

The update has been rolled out for both Android and iOS

One can now interact with anyone on the Instagram platform using Instagram Threads. Earlier, only users could send messages to their close friends. With the latest update, Threads offers you two tabs in the inbox, one tab for close friends and the other tab for everyone on Instagram regardless of whether they have downloaded the thread or not. However, even after the latest update, only your close friends will be able to see your automatic status updates. This update has been rolled out for both Android and iOS devices.

The information about the Instagram Threads update was first made public by Tipster Jane Manchun Wong. She has shared a screenshot of Instagram's new feature on her Twitter handle. As can be seen in the screenshot shared, chats with close friends will still be preferred in the inbox after the update. By default notifications in threads are enabled only for close friends, but the settings in the app can be changed.

Let us tell you, Threads was launched by Instagram last year, in which users can chat with people whom they have marked as close friends on Instagram. The image centric messaging app also allows users to share automatic status updates such as' On the Move, 'Out and About' and 'Low Battery'.

Threads allows you to send photos and videos to your close friends instantly, but now any user on your Instagram can easily connect with you. However, this interface looks exactly the same as before. The update changelog mentions that close friends will still have priority in messages, status and stories.

Let me tell you, only last week Facebook merged its two important services Instagram and Messenger. After this merger, now the Messenger user can directly message the Instagram user.
