Jharkhand: Poor families will get saree for Rs 10, Hemant government passes proposals

The government of Jharkhand on Friday decided to give dhoti / lungi and saree twice a year to all families below the state's poverty line for ten rupees. A decision to this effect was taken at a meeting of the state cabinet held here on Friday under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Hemant Soren.

Chief Minister's office gave information

Giving information about this decision of the cabinet, the Chief Minister's Office said that under the Sona Sobaran Dhoti Sari Distribution Scheme, the state government will cover all eligible households and beneficiary families of Antyodaya Anna Yojana under the National Food Security Act at an interval of six months. Twice a year and once in the financial year 2020-21 will distribute one dhoti / lungi and one saree at a subsidized rate for just Rs 10 per family. The ruling party Jharkhand Mukti Morcha had also promised the people to give dhoti / saree in its manifesto in the assembly elections.

Approval for many more proposals

In another proposal, a proposal to take loan from NABARD of Rs 97 crore for 58 rural road projects of the state has been approved. In another proposal, the proposal was made to exempt VAT on liquor sold from BSF Canteen at Meru, Hazaribagh.

The cabinet secretary said that the determination of fee of FN Nariman and Abhishek Manu Singhvi was approved in favor of Jharkhand in favor of the Supreme Court. Under this, the senior advocate Nariman will be paid Rs 20 lakh per appearance and Singhvi at the rate of Rs 15 lakh per appearance. In the corona transition period, the first semester in polytechnics in the current academic session and third semester in engineering college will be enrolled on the basis of qualifying marks under AICTE criteria.
