The Amazon company, which sells goods online, has refused to appear before the Joint Parliamentary Committee. The committee headed by BJP MP Meenakshi Lekhi had sent a summons to the company to appear in connection with the Private Data Security Bill.

Meenakshi Lekhi said that the company was instructed to appear before the committee on October 28. But he has refused to appear before the committee. If the company does not come on notice, a case of breach of parliamentary privilege will be made against it. After which action can be taken on it.

Lekhi warned that if the company does not appear before the committee, then the government will be recommended for strict action against it. This recommendation will be in relation to ban on online business being done by Amazon in India. That is, there can be a partial or full ban on the company doing business in India.
