Poorly performing Government Employees are under scanner

The Central Government has started reviewing service records of nearly 67,000 employees, including IAS and IPS officers. This review is being done to identify poor performing employees.

Please note that this review is part of government efforts to improve service and governance. A senior official of the Department of Personnel and Training said that people who did not abide by the code of conduct as a result of this reaction may be subject to penalties. He said, the service records of nearly 67,000 employees of the central government are being reviewed. This will identify the poor performing employees.

The official said that about 25,000 of these employees were from All India and Group A services. These include Indian Administrative Service, Indian Police Service and Indian Revenue Service.

Government will not tolerate corruption

Minister of State for Personnel, Mr. Jitendra Singh said that on one hand, the attitude of the government is not to tolerate high level of efficiency and corruption altogether. On the other hand, the government wants to ensure friendly environment for the honest officials. According to the figures, the Central Government has a total of 48.85 lakh employees.
