New Delhi: A day after AAPr performance in the
MCD polls, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has convened a meeting of party
MLAs in his house on Thursday. It is notable that the results of Delhi MCD
elections have come on Wednesday. Among them, BJP has got a two-third majority
and the performance of AAP is very dismal. After the poor performance of the
recent Punjab and Goa elections, the party's performance in MCD was not as
expected. It is also seen in the party and after these results, the resignation
period has begun in AAP.
After the
election results, AAP in-charge of Delhi's Dilip Pandey resigned on Wednesday
evening. Within 24 hours, the party's Punjab in-charge Sanjay Singh has
announced his resignation on Thursday. Sanjay Singh tweeted, "I have given
my resignation to the national convenor Arvind Kejriwal " He also said
that Durgesh Pathak, co-in-charge of Punjab has also resigned from his post. .
Apart from this, ML Alka Lamba, from the Chandni Chowk in Delhi, had also
offered to resign, taking responsibility for the party's defeat in the region.
Although these resignations are being linked to the MCD results, the
interesting thing is that Sanjay Singh has resigned almost a month after the
Punjab elections.
It is
notable that after losing in the MCD elections on Wednesday, the party's Delhi
convener Dilip Pandey sent his resignation to the national convenor Arvind
Kejriwal. He has said that the responsibilities of this post should be handed over
to another person. Taking the moral responsibility of the party's defeat in the
elections, Pandey resigned from his post and tweeted it. He wrote, "I have
resigned from AAP as the Delhi Convenor and have given this information to the
party's national convenor Arvind Kejriwal and requested to hand over this
responsibility to someone else."
Pandey was
given a joint responsibility with the campaign for campaigning for the State
Convenor Municipal Corporation and its strategy, Ashish Talwar, in-charge of
Delhi. Pandey, fearing to rig the election result just two days before the
election results, said that the exit poll is being prepared by expressing the
possibility of BJP's victory in the exit polls.
On
Wednesday, Aam Aadmi Party MLA Alka Lamba has offered to resign from all the
posts of the MLA and the party while taking responsibility for the defeat of
the candidates in his area. Alka, who represents Chandni Chowk constituency,
tweeted, "I take the personal responsibility of the defeat of party
candidates in all three wards of my constituency and I also offer my
resignation as all the posts and legislators of the party. "However, Alka
said that he will continue to support Kejriwal and strengthen him.
